Scenes

Poem By Laila Ali Haid

Scenes that cull the fine hearts in tow

The rights in the primordial hoping to pushes of new

The clustered areas with green tapered to dry rot in the floors for dreams

The new tides of blinkered hatred and further grown lies

The chases to dawn in the nights in which lives are tapered

To debts and forlorn announcements

The scenes of gone lives

The love in the might of pity in church steeples

The graces in the ponds of the holiday times.

Longer

Poem by Laila Ali Haid

Long is the love in the fountains of joy,

Longer is the night in which prices of grain fall,

Questions in the shy falling hopes of the youth in days long,

Remedied with passing of lives in the years blinking,

The memories forbidden in the graces they promised,

Love in the shower of mercy in the fortitude of lives,

Longer is the penitence whilst leaning for salvation,

The tidings so daunting in presence,

And foretold sometimes before the light.
